In the village of Lovas, Croatian citizens uncovered a grave site believed to contain the remains of Croatians killed during the siege of Vukovar between November 1991 and January 1992. Excavation and inspection of the site, in the UNT AES administered region, was monitored by UN Civilian Police.

Shown is an identification number marking one of the skeletal remains uncovered in the Lovas grave site.

In Eastern Slavonia, the United Nations set up a weekly "market day" on Saturday mornings in the zone of separation, a road between the towns of Klisa and Osijek, to encourage interaction between people from different ethnic groups and provide an opportunity for commerce and for family reunions. Many of the 10,000 people coming to this location had not seen each other in over five years because of fighting and the border controls.
