Council Extends Peacebuilding Office in Guinea-Bissau by One Year

Acting on the recommendation of Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the Security Council extended the mandate of the UN Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Guinea-Bissau (UNIOGBIS) for one year.

The Council unanimously adopts resolution 2103 (2013), extending the mandate of UNIOGBIS.

Kodjo Menan (left), Permanent Representative of Togo to the UN and President of the Security Council for the month of May, chairs the Security Council meeting on the situation in Guinea-Bissau. The Council had before it a report from the Secretary-General on developments in Guinea-Bissau, including efforts towards the restoration of constitutional order, and on the activities of the UN Peacebuilding Support Office in that country.
