The first four planes in the airlift of refugees from South Kasai who are being evacuated from Elizabethville left Kamina for Luluabourg this morning. They carried about 200 of the nearly 1,000 refugees who had arrived by train from Elizabethville last night. The refugees were housed overnight in a camp near a railway siding constructed in the last two days by the Swedish Contingent at the Kamina base.
Photograph shows members of the Swedish contingent of the UN Force helping refugees to load their baggage onto one of the planes at the Kamina base airfield.
