Swedish Diplomat Chosen as New UN General Assembly President

Jan Eliasson of Sweden, who was elected President of the General Assembly's sixtieth session due to begin in September 2005, makes his acceptance speech before the Assembly today at UN Headquarters upon his election. Mr. Eliasson is currently Sweden's Ambassador to the United States.
