Incoming and Outgoing General Assembly Presidents Meet
Jean Ping (right) of Gabon, the outgoing President of the fifty-ninth session of the General Assembly, congratulates Jan Eliasson of Sweden, who was elected President of the Assembly's sixtieth session due to begin in September 2005, today at UN Headquarters. Mr. Eliasson is currently Sweden's Ambassador to the United States.
