Rwandan Battalion Helps Local Community Clean School
Members of the Rwandan battalion (RWANBATT-1) of the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) worked with the local community in Kapuri, a town on the outskirts of the capital Juba, along with the Rwandan community in South Sudan, to clean the Kapuri Primary School. During the clean-up initiative, the Rwandan peacekeepers also constructed a volleyball court for for the school, offered medical services, and provided exercise books, pens, and balls.
The project was completed under the theme "Umuganda" or "Shared Work", and was a continuation of the relationship formed between the Rwandan Battalion and the Kapuri community in 2014, the result of which saw the building of the school, which was completed in 2015.
