Permanent Representative of Malawi to the United Nations
Portrait of Robert Bernard Mbaya, the new Permanent Representative of the Malawi to the United Nations, who presented his credentials to Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim at United Nations Headquarters today.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Mbaya held the post of Deputy Permanent Representative of Malawi to the United Nations since September 1972. Before coming to the United Nations, he served with the Malawi Minister of External Affairs, and was Permanent Secretary of the Ministries of Natural Resources, and of Transport and Communications. He has also held posts in the Malawi Ministries of Information and Tourism, Works and Supplies, Economic Affairs and Development and Planning.
