Secretary-General Meets Egyptian President

In the course of these conversations, the Egyptian government asked for U.N. help in clearing the Suez Canal and requested that this help start immediately upon the re-establishment of normal conditions in port Said and the Canal area, including the withdrawal of non-Egyptian forces. Other subjects discussed concerned the presence and functioning of the U.N. Emergency Force (UNEF).
