Micronesia - Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands
The Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, which became a United Nations Trusteeship in 1947 under US administration, consists of more than 2,000 islands and atolls having a combined land area of 700 square miles and spread over an ocean area of 3 million square miles in the western Pacific, north of the Equator.
