Coffins of Fallen UNAMID Peacekeepers to Be Repatriated
Seven Tanzanian peacekeepers were killed and 17 others injured on 13 July in Khor Abeche, South Darfur, in an ambush by unidentified armed assailants against a convoy of the African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID). Among the injured are four UNAMID police officers, including two female officers, and 13 troops.
Coffins of the peacekeepers killed in the ambush being moved in El Fasher. The remains of the fallen peacekeepers are to be repatriated to their home country, Tanzania.
