UNAMID Opens Clinic and Schools in North Darfur

Residents of Forog, North Darfur, welcome the arrival of Aïchatou Mindaoudou Souleymane, Deputy Special Representative for Political Affairs at the African Union-UN Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID), who will officially open an UNAMID-sponsored clinic and three schools in the area. This corner of North Darfur, currently controlled by the Abdul Wahid faction of the rebel Sudan Liberation Army (SLA), is reported to suffer a serious shortage of water and medicines.
