Timor-Leste Celebrates New President and 10th Anniversary of Independence Restoration

Night-time festivities take place in the Timorese capital, Dili, as the country prepares to inaugurate a new President, Taur Matan Ruak, and celebrates simultaneously the tenth anniversary of its restoration of independence. Mr. Ruak, who ran as an independent candidate, won Timor-Leste’s presidential elections in a second round of voting last month.
