On UN Day Secretary-General Tells Students to Make World 7 Billion "Strong"
Twelfth and eleventh-grade students of the New Explorations into Science, Mathematics and Technology (Nest+m) School hold up their signs, on the theme “I Am One of Seven Billion”, as they await an address by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon for UN Day. Mr. Ban’s remarks focused on the birth of the seven billionth baby in one week and the food, energy, and security needs of a world of seven billion. His visit is one of more than sixty being made by UN officials to New York City high schools as part of the UN4U fall outreach programme.
