Displaced Darfuris Receive Efficient Water Rollers
In the Abu Shouk IDP Camp, a child pushes an orange Water Roller, which has the same capacity as the four jerry cans carried by her companion.
The roller, a device for easily and efficiently carrying water, frees women and children from having to spend a large portion of every day dedicated to collecting water for their households. The African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) has distributed some 3,000 such rollers across Darfur.
