Council Extends Mandate of WMD Non-Proliferation Committee
A view of Security Council Members as they vote on resolution 1977 (2011), extending for 10 years the mandate of the so-called 1540 Committee responsible for monitoring efforts to prevent the acquisition of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) by terrorists and other non-State actors. The resolution was unanimously adopted.
