UNDP Helps Mongolian Farmers
A farmer maintains his field of sea-buckthorns in the Altai-Sayan Eco-Region of Uvs Province, Mongolia. An important natural resource, sea-buckthorn is used for the prevention of soil erosion and the production of food and medicine products. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Altai-Sayan Project, which works to preserve the biodiversity of the region, has helped Mongolian farmers by converting unused land into an agricultural park.
