UNMIT Prepares for Second Village Council Elections
A helicopter of the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT) unloads polling booths for deployment in remote areas of the country for the 9 October Second National Village Council (sucos) elections. Candidates are vying for positions as village chiefs and members of village councils for the first time since the first round of village elections in 2004 and 2005.
