FALINTIL Soldiers Reburied for 10th Anniversary of Timorese Independence

Deceased soldiers of the Forças Armadas da Libertação Nacional de Timor-Leste (FALINTIL), the armed resistance movement for East Timorese independence, are reburied at the Hero's Cemetery in Metinaro. The re-burial was planned in honour of the10th anniversary of the 1999 UN-organized Popular Consultation, a landmark referendum which granted Timor-Leste its independence.
