Guided Tour Service at United Nations Headquarters
The UN Department of Public Information (DPI) maintains at United Nations Headquarters as Visitor’s Services Section which handles queries from visitors and conducts public briefings and guided tours of the Headquarters buildings. The tour service is part of the DPI’s Public Liaison and Distribution Division. There are 65 guides who, as a group, are able to conduct the tours in some 19 different languages. During the year 1956 800,000 visitors were taken on tours through the United Nations Headquarters.
