New Agreement between Egypt and Israel; New Tasks Assigned to UNEF
In September 1975 Egypt and Israel signed a new agreement and protocol relating to their forces in Sinai. Under the new agreement the UN Emergency Force (UNEF) buffer zone separating the forces of the two countries has been extended and now includes coastal areas along the Gulf of Suez. UNEF will continue to monitor the redeployment and limitation of forces.
