Chinju Rebuilding in First Anniversary of Korean Aggression
On 24 September 1950, when the United Nations Forces recaptured Chinju, 60 percent of the city and it suburbs had been destroyed and 60,000 of its residents were homeless. Today on the first anniversary of the aggression in Korea, Chinju is rebuilding itself rapidly and, once again, its people look ahead to better times.
