Two Finnish Soldiers Killed, Five Seriously Injured as Rescue Lorry Strikes Anti-Tank Mine
Two Finnish soldiers were killed and five seriously injured in a minefield accident on 14 February. The incident took place in the western sector of the new UNEF temporary-buffer area about 15 kilometres West-South-West of UNEF forward headquarters in Fanara, on the coast of the Great Bitter Lake.
Finnish Battalion soldiers prepare to remove the lorry after the Israeli Anti -Tank mines (M-15) in the uncharted area were uncovered and defused by members of the Egyptian Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team (EODT).
