Peace Rally Marchers Pay Tribute to UN
An aerial view of thousands of demonstrators filing past United Nations Headquarters on their way to today's Peace Rally in Central Park. The rally was timed to coincide with the UN General Assembly's second Special Session on Disarmament. An estimated three-quarters of a million people gathered in the cause of world nuclear disarmament, making it the largest demonstration of its kind ever to take place in the United States.
