UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)
Refugee children are seen eating a supplementary meal at the Jebal Hassein Camp near Amman, Jordan. UNRWA dry rations provide 1,500 calories per refugee per day (1,600 in winter). To protect vulnerable groups - undernourished children, pregnant or nursing mothers and T.B. out-patients - supplementary feeding centres in each camp provide a hot meal for over 42,000 children daily and extra rations are distributed to 31,000 refugees monthly.
