New U.N. Truce Chief in Palestine Holds Press Conference
Major-General E.L.M. Burns, of Canada, newly appointed Chief of Staff of the U.N. Truce Supervision Organization in Palestine (UNTSO), at the press conference he held today at United Nations Headquarters, in New York.
General Burns agreed with a correspondent that the situation in the Middle East has improved, following the Anglo-Egyptian agreement on the Suez Canal and developments in Tunisia, "and one would hope that this would have an effect on relations between Israel and the Arab States".
