Secretary-General Receives Check from Special Committee Against Apartheid
The Vice-Chairman of the Special Committee against Apartheid Serge Elie Charles (Haiti) presents a check to Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar (right) at UN Headquarters today. The check, which is in the amount $16,450, is for Mrs. Winnie Mandela, whose house was set on fire and destroyed early last August. Numerous countriies, individuals and organizations contributed to the cause.
