This picture is part of a series taken early this month, during visits by correspondents to units of the UN Emergency Force. (On December 10, the strength of the Force in Egypt had passed the 3,500 mark. The Force, which is made up of contingents from Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, India, Norway, Sweden and Yugoslavia, had units in the Abu Suweir transit camp near Ismailia, the El Ballah assembly centre south of Qantara, the El Cap buffer zone to the north, the Sinai peninsula and the Port Said-Port Fuad area).

These two Swedish members of the UN Force were photographed at Abu Suweir, on the occasion of the arrival from Capodichino of a contingent of 164 officers and men of the Swedish Army.
