SG's Special Representative for Namibia Reviews Indian Police Monitors in Caprivi Strip
Over five thousands United Nations soldiers, police, and civilians have been dispatched to Namibia to ease that country's long-delayed transition to independence.
Martti Ahtisaari, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Namibia, inspects a contingent of United Nations Transition Assistance Group (UNTAG) police monitors from India at their base east of Rundu in the Caprivi Strip. India has contributed 40 police monitors to UNTAG.
