Funeral Ceremony for Deputy Chief of Staff of UN Force
A funeral ceremony was held here today, with full military honors, for Colonel Justin McCarthy, of Ireland, Deputy Chief of staff, Headquarters, United Nations Force in the Congo (ONUC), who was killed in an automobile accident in this city early in the morning of 28 October. A solemn requiem high mass was sung at the Church of Ste. Marie, in the African quarter of the city. The casket had been taken on Sunday afternoon to the church, where and all-night vigil was maintained by units of the various contingents stationed here.
