Working Group of Experts on Treatment of Prisoners in South Africa Hears Witnesses in London
The Ad Hoc Working Group of Legal Experts - established by the United Nations Commission on Human Rights to investigate charges of torture and ill-treatment of prisoner's victims of the policy of apartheid in South Africa - held its first five meetings in London from 12-14 June. It heard three former prisoners testify to the discriminatory treatment of African prisoners and particularly of African political prisoners.
